Encephaloceles consist of brain tissue and meninges that has herniated through a skull defect, usually located in the midline. They are seen more commonly in children and very rarely in adults. We present a case of an 84-year-old patient who was incidentally diagnosed with a lytic bone lesion in the right parietal intradiploic space, after computed tomography of the head was performed.

Radiologic imaging is essential for diagnosing pediatric facial fractures and selecting the optimal therapeutic approach. Trauma-induced maxillofacial injuries in children may affect functioning as well as esthetic appearance, and they must be diagnosed promptly and accurately and managed appropriately to avoid disturbances of future growth and development. However, these fractures may be difficult to detect on images, and they are frequently underreported.

Material And Methods: We describe clinical, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings in a patient with general paresis. MRI demonstrated cortical-subcortical atrophy and broad-coalescent high-intensity T2 lesions in right frontotemporal lobes.

Results: After intravenous penicillin therapy, the size of these lesions diminished dramatically.
