(1) Background: The aim of this study was examining the ex vivo and in vivo properties of a composite made from polycaprolactone (PCL) and biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) (synprint, ScientiFY GmbH) fabricated via fused deposition modelling (FDM); (2) Methods: Scaffolds were tested ex vivo for their mechanical properties using porous and solid designs. Subcutaneous implantation model analyzed the biocompatibility of PCL + BCP and PCL scaffolds. Calvaria implantation model analyzed the osteoconductive properties of PCL and PCL + BCP scaffolds compared to BCP as control group.

The Institut Català de la Salut (ICS) has designed and integrated in electronic clinical station of primary care a new software tool to support the prescription of drugs, which can detect on-line certain medication errors. This study was designed to evaluate the antitumor activity and tolerance of biweekly docetaxel plus vinorelbine as first-line chemotherapy in patients with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Forty-one patients with measurable disease and no prior chemotherapy for MBC were treated with docetaxel 60 mg/m(2) plus vinorelbine 30 mg/m(2) on day 1, every 2 weeks for a maximum of 12 courses. Median age was 58 years (range, 23-75).

Background And Objective: To determine vascular risk factor (VRF) profiles in transient ischemic attack (TIA) and ischemic stroke.

Patients And Method: We studied 239 patients with TIA and 1,473 ischemic stroke patients included in a prospective stroke registry over a 10-year period.

Results: Main VRF were: hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus and atrial fibrillation.

A remote detection system based on optical emission spectrometry of laser-induced plasmas has been developed to record spectra in the visible region from samples placed at remote distances from the excitation source. Unlike from fiber-optic-based systems, light collection is performed remotely as well. Laboratory-scale experiments have shown the possibility of performing real-time analysis of samples placed remotely.
