Recent literature suggests that high-dose biotin therapy for neurological diseases like Multiple sclerosis can interfere with lab results that use biotin/streptavidin immunoassay, called biotin interference. Biotin interference can affect thyroid lab results, giving biochemical hyperthyroidism.

Aim: Evaluate legacy effect on renal outcomes after the end of a multifactorial-multidisciplinary intervention in patients with advanced diabetic nephropathy (ADN trial) CKD 3-4.

Methods: A retrospective electronic review was conducted of 72 patients who completed the ADN trial ESRD-free with subsequent follow-up of two years or until ESRD development.

Results: At baseline, reflecting ADN trial end, 38 post-intervention and 34 post-control patients were similar except for lower HbA1c, SBP and age in the post-intervention group.

BACKGROUND Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is an uncommon manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We report a case of SLE presenting as CIDP and discuss the diagnosis, management, and prognosis of CIDP. CASE REPORT A 40-year-old woman with a past medical history of SLE treated with hydroxychloroquine presented with bilateral, progressive, ascending, sensory and motor neuropathy.

Here we describe, to our knowledge, the first case where an evolution of mechanisms responsible for hypercalcemia occurred in undifferentiated thymic carcinoma and discuss specific management strategies for hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM). . We report a 26-year-old male with newly diagnosed undifferentiated thymic carcinoma associated with HCM.
