Anthropometric changes in the skull base in children with sagittal craniosynostosis submitted to surgical correction.

Purpose: Studies have examined the impact of fusion of the sagittal suture in the skull base while others have evaluated the growth of the skull base before and after surgery. This study aims to perform the anthropometric measures of the skull base in children with scaphocephaly to evaluate the influence of surgical repair in the remodeling of the skull base and anthropometric measures.

Methods: Twenty-one children with diagnosis of scaphocephaly were operated between April 2007 and October 2008, and anthropometric measures at the skull base were performed before and after a year of surgery.

Surgical clipping is still a good choice for the treatment of paraclinoid aneurysms.

Unlabelled: Paraclinoid aneurysms are lesions located adjacent to the clinoid and ophthalmic segments of the internal carotid artery. In recent years, flow diverter stents have been introduced as a better endovascular technique for treatment of these aneurysms.

Method: From 2009 to 2014, a total of 43 paraclinoid aneurysms in 43 patients were surgically clipped.

Application of indocyanine green video angiography in surgical treatment of intracranial aneurysms.

Indocyanine green (ICG) video angiography has been used for several medical indications in the last decades. It allows a real time evaluation of vascular structures during the surgery. This study describes the surgical results of a senior vascular neurosurgeon.
