Background: Pheochromocytoma is a tumor originating in the chromaffin cells. These tumors secrete catecholamines which act on target organs and cause hypertensive crises. They are rare during pregnancy, and a differential diagnosis must be carried out mainly with pregnancy-induced hypertension.
