[Risk of lethality due to nosocomial infections in a tertiary-level hospital].

Background: Infections associated with health care, previously known as nosocomial infections, constitute one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in hospital. The aim of this study is to estimate the lethality of HAI, as well as the risk of dying from HAI versus mortality by other causes.

Methods: We analyzed the historical cohort of IAAS of the Epidemiology service of a tertiary-level hospital, from 2012 to 2017.
