This study examined the effects of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) on ankle range of motion in college athletes. Twenty-five Division II college athletes (18-24 yrs) were randomly selected into two groups: experimental group ( = 11) and control group ( = 14). Baseline measurements for both groups included an initial squat assessment, which measured ankle dorsiflexion during the movement, followed by IASTM with ankle rehabilitation exercises, and a secondary squat assessment.

Objective: To analyse the physical growth of a representative school population sample from the Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil, in comparison with the reference proposed by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC-2000).

Methods: The sample was composed of 5100 individuals (2730 girls and 2370 boys), aged 6-18 years. Body weight-for-age and height-for-age percentiles were obtained using the LMS method.

The management of the supratentorial low-grade gliomas has been a question of great debate in our days and the best therapeutic approach is still to determinate. The improvements in the modern surgical techniques have made feasible greater degrees of resection and have lead to longterm progression-free survival remaining surgery as the mainstay of treatment for low grade gliomas. A considerable proportion of patients will have less than complete removal or unresectable tumors and will need more efficacious treatment alternatives which must be identified.

1. Studies have shown that adenosine transport and adenosine A1 receptors in rat brain are subjected to regulation by thyroid hormone levels. Since the ectonucleotidase pathway is an important source of adenosine extracellular, in the present study the in vitro action of T3 and T4 hormones on ectonucleotidase activities in hippocampal synaptosomes was evaluated.
