Lipid peroxidation and large-scale deletions of mitochondrial DNA in asthenoteratozoospermic patients.

The correlation between malondialdehyde (MDA) an index of lipid peroxidation (LPO) with large-scale deletion mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) was investigated in a case-control study with a total of 50 semen samples from infertile men, including 25 normozoospermic donor as the control group and 25 asthenoteratozoospermic (AT) patients as the case group. Routine semen analysis was performed according to World Health Organization (WHO, 1999) guidelines. MDA levels of the seminal plasma and spermatozoa were measured by TBARS method.

Evaluation of preincubation time interval in testicular biopsy to obtain optimum sperm parameters.

Objective: In sever oligospermia; one of the paths used for surgical sperm retrieval (SSR) is to extract sperm via a testicular biopsy. The aim of our study is to determine the reliable time interval between testicular biopsy and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) procedure in order to obtain optimumsperm parameters (count, motility and normal morphology).

Materials And Methods: This cohort study was carried out on 30 patients which were candidates for ICSI.

Coriander has been recommended for the relief of pain, anxiety, flatulence, and loss of appetite. In traditional medicine, it is believed that coriander can induce some degree of amnesia in a child when his/her mother uses coriander during the pregnancy. We evaluated the effect of Coriandrum sativum seed extract on learning in second-generation mice.
