Over-the-counter diet pills and muscle-building supplements are linked to increased eating disorder diagnoses, especially among youth. With limited regulatory oversight, minors may unknowingly consume harmful substances leading to other adverse effects. Massachusetts has proposed restricting sales to individuals under 18 years.

This study aimed to (1) evaluate national trends in discharge disposition and postoperative outcomes after THA, (2) compare discharge cohorts on episode-of-care parameters, and (3) determine predictors of nonhome discharge from 2011 to 2021.
Methods: The National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database was queried for THA data from 2011 to 2021.
Introduction: Children and young adults diagnosed with sarcoma often present with pulmonary metastases requiring wedge resection. It is important to balance the risk of pulmonary recurrence against the desire to limit resection of benign parenchyma. This study aims to determine the impact of resection margins on survival and recurrence among pediatric and young adult sarcoma patients.

We identified 13, 31 and 21 common variant loci for SND, DCD and PM, respectively.

But less is known about the nature and extent of these executive difficulties during late adolescence, particularly across multiple EF domains and in response to varying degrees of executive demand.
Methods: Using data from a prospective longitudinal study, this paper describes the EF profiles of 92 VPT and 68 full-term (FT) adolescents at age 17 years.
Background: The recent success of a population control gene drive targeting the doublesex gene in Anopheles gambiae paved the way for developing self-sustaining and self-limiting genetic control strategies targeting the sex determination pathway to reduce and/or distort the reproductive capacity of insect vectors. However, targeting these genes for genetic control requires a better understanding of their genetic variation in natural populations to ensure effective gene drive spread. Using whole genome sequencing (WGS) data from the Ag1000G project (Ag3.

Amidst ongoing legal attacks on LGBTQ populations' rights, research is needed to examine changes in policy contexts over time and associated implications for population health and inequities. To address this gap, we constructed state-level structural cisheterosexism trajectories for each U.

Methods: In 2022 and 2023, dentists completed an online, asynchronous CE course on the guideline-concordant pharmacologic management of acute dental pain. They completed 11-item knowledge tests before and after completing the course.
Purpose To evaluate the impact of adjunctive partial cryoablation on checkpoint inhibitor (CPI) immunotherapy response. Materials and Methods One hundred fifty-six mice (equal number of male and female animals) with dual-implanted tumor models were treated with dual CPI or a vehicle and randomized to treatment of a single tumor with partial cryoablation. Tumors were followed for 60 days following cryoablation for response assessment.

Enalapril has been explored for its potential to mitigate cardiotoxicity in cancer patients. The dose-dependent cardiotoxicity effects of anthracyclines can be detected early through the biomarker cardiac troponin.

Generalized estimating equations are a popular method for estimating generalized linear models using clustered data. The conventional Liang-Zeger variance estimator is known to result in estimated standard errors that are biased low when the number of clusters in small.

It is possible that at least for some Asian men, disordered eating behaviors in response to appearance pressures are simply means to an end, and when success in important life domains is achieved, both appearance pressures and disordered eating behaviors may decrease.

VC is a highly regulated biological process similar to bone formation involving osteogenic transdifferentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). We have previously demonstrated that loss of T-cell death-associated gene 51 (TDAG51) expression leads to an attenuation of medial VC.

This study evaluates the ad content changes from 2 weeks before to 2 weeks after the policy's enforcement.
Methods: Text ads from Google searches in eight countries (Bahamas, Germany, India, Malaysia, Mexico, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, and United States) were collected in 2022, totaling 1,974 prepolicy and 3,262 post-policy ads, and analyzed in 2023.
