Introduction And Objective: The recent rise in acute kidney injury (AKI) incidence, with approximately 30% attributed to potentially preventable adverse drug events (ADEs), poses challenges in evaluating drug-induced AKI due to polypharmacy and other risk factors. This study seeks to consolidate knowledge on the drugs with AKI potential from four distinct sources: (i) bio(medical) peer-reviewed journals; (ii) spontaneous reporting systems (SRS); (iii) drug information databases (DIDs); and (iv) NephroTox website. By harnessing the potential of these underutilised sources, our objective is to bridge gaps and enhance the understanding of drug-induced AKI.

Neutropenia is a dose-related treatment-limiting and costly adverse event of pemetrexed. We postulate that individualized dosing reduces the incidence of neutropenia. The aims of this study were (i) to investigate the costs of pemetrexed-related neutropenia and (ii) to determine the pharmacoeconomic benefits of individualized dosing of pemetrexed in terms of budget impact, yearly cost savings, and reduction in severe neutropenia.

Mast cells are well known for their detrimental effects in allergies and asthma, and Wnt signaling has recently been implicated in asthma and other airway diseases. However, it is not known if or how Wnts affect human mast cells. Since Wnt expression is elevated in individuals with asthma and is linked to a Th2 profile, we hypothesized that mast cells could be affected by Wnts in the context of asthma.
