Orbital decompression is frequently performed in patients with thyroid eye disease. The indication for an orbital decompression in most patients is threatened visual loss from corneal exposure or optic neuropathy. Objective: To compare the results of a commercially available monocular autorefractor (SureSight; Welch Allyn Medical Products, Skaneateles Falls, NY) with findings from a comprehensive eye examination for significant refractive error, strabismus, and amblyopia.
