Breast cancer in men is a rare and unsuspected malignancy. A 48-year-old man begins with disabling low back pain. The CT scan reported a compression fracture in L2 and diffuse skeletal lesions suggestive of metastatic disease.

Diagnosis of Traumatic Bronchobiliary Fistula With Late 99m Tc-Mebrofenin SPECT/CT.

Bronchobiliary fistula (BBF) represents a rare disorder; it consists of abnormal interconnection between the biliary tract and bronchial trees. A 22-year-old woman with persistent chest pain, jaundice, and biliptysis was referred for hepatobiliary scintigraphy under clinical suspicion of a BBF. Patient medical history was consistent with biliary tree reconstruction secondary to an iatrogenic injury during cholecystectomy 4 years ago.

Acute Stress in Health Workers during Two Consecutive Epidemic Waves of COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic has provoked generalized uncertainty around the world, with health workers experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, insomnia, and stress. Although the effects of the pandemic on mental health may change as it evolves, the majority of reports have been web-based, cross-sectional studies. We performed a study assessing acute stress in frontline health workers during two consecutive epidemic waves.

[Tc]Tc-iPSMA SPECT brain imaging as a potential specific diagnosis of metastatic brain tumors and high-grade gliomas.

Background: PSMA (prostate-specific membrane antigen) protein is heavily expressed in the proliferating microvasculature of high-grade gliomas (HGG) and brain metastases (BM). This research aimed to assess [Tc]Tc-iPSMA SPECT brain imaging as a potential specific diagnosis of HGG and BM by PSMA-targeting in their proliferating vasculature.

Methods: Forty-one patients, with suspected brain tumors, as detected by enhanced MRI scanning, were enrolled to undergo preoperative [Tc]Tc-iPSMA SPECT brain imaging.

Burnout, depersonalization, and anxiety contribute to post-traumatic stress in frontline health workers at COVID-19 patient care, a follow-up study.

Introduction: We designed a follow-up study of frontline health workers at COVID-19 patient care, within the same working conditions, to assess the influence of their general characteristics and pre-existing anxiety/depression/dissociative symptoms and resilience on the development of symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), while monitoring their quality of sleep, depersonalization/derealization symptoms, acute stress, state anxiety, and burnout.

Methods: In a Hospital reconfigured to address the surge of patients with COVID-19, 204 frontline health workers accepted to participate. They completed validated questionnaires to assess mental health: before, during, and after the peak of inpatient admissions.

Tc-CXCR4-L for Imaging of the Chemokine-4 Receptor Associated with Brain Tumor Invasiveness: Biokinetics, Radiation Dosimetry, and Proof of Concept in Humans.

Overexpression of the chemokine-4 receptor (CXCR4) in brain tumors is associated with high cancer cell invasiveness. Recently, we reported the preclinical evaluation of Tc-CXCR4-L (cyclo-D-Tyr-D-[NMe]Orn[EDDA-Tc-6-hydrazinylnicotinyl]-Arg-NaI-Gly) as a SPECT radioligand capable of specifically detecting the CXCR4 protein. This research aimed to estimate the biokinetic behavior and radiation dosimetry of Tc-CXCR4-L in healthy subjects, as well as to correlate the radiotracer uptake by brain tumors in patients, with the histological grade of differentiation and CXCR4 expression evaluated by immunohistochemistry.

Background: Toxic epidermal necrolysis is a dermatological disease that evolves with an elevated mortality. Our objective was to show the utility of a nonconventional treatment for toxic epidermal necrolysis in place of conventional treatment where the mortality is <50 %. With this suggested treatment, mortality is 0 %.
