[Ethical and legal aspects of violence against women].

Caring for female victims of violence presents health professionals with situations that require careful consideration due to the conflicts raised between the fundamental principles of bioethics. During this process, intermediate courses of action should be adopted in which none of the affected principles is totally compromised, yet always take into account due compliance with legal and deontological regulations. Within these conflicts, the possible impact on the autonomy of the victim must be taken into consideration, conditioned by the relationship of dominance with respect to their aggressor, a fundamental characteristic of gender violence.

Soil Application of a Formulated Biocontrol Rhizobacterium, PCL1606, Induces Soil Suppressiveness by Impacting Specific Microbial Communities.

Biocontrol bacteria can be used for plant protection against some plant diseases. PCL1606 (PcPCL1606) is a model bacterium isolated from the avocado rhizosphere with strong antifungal antagonism mediated by the production of 2-hexyl, 5-propil resorcinol (HPR). Additionally, PcPCL1606 has biological control against different soil-borne fungal pathogens, including the causal agent of the white root rot of many woody crops and avocado in the Mediterranean area, .

Background: p53 protein is essential for the regulation of cell proliferation. Aberrant accumulation of it usually occurs in cutaneous malignancies. Mutant p53 is detected by immunohistochemistry because it is more stable than the wild-type p53.

Evaluation of composition and performance of composts derived from guacamole production residues.

The utilization of organic wastes to improve soils or for growth media components in local farms and nurseries can reduce the environmental pollution linked to waste disposal while increasing the sustainability of crop production. This approach could be applied to waste products generated from the production of guacamole (an emerging activity in the avocado production areas in mainland Spain), where appropriate treatment of this oily and doughy waste product has not been previously reported. The aim of this work is to study the feasibility of co-composting guacamole production residues (GR) with garden pruning waste (PW) as bulking agent, and the possible use of the compost produced depending on its quality.

Comparison of three immunological diagnostic tests for the detection of avian tuberculosis in naturally infected red deer (Cervus elaphus).

Cases of tuberculosis due to Mycobacterium avium subsp. avium in 52 adult red deer (Cervus elaphus) from a farm were studied using different diagnostic techniques. Immunological probes consisted of the comparative cervical tuberculin (CCT) skin test, the interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) assay, and 2 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) employing either avian purified protein derivatives or protoplasmatic antigen (PPA-3) as antigens.
