Sechium spp., is a vegetable species renowned for its pharmacological properties, including hepatoprotective activity. This species can crossbreed with its wild relatives, leading to the creation of an HD-Victor hybrid with higher levels of flavonoids, cucurbitacins, and phenolic acids compared to the Sechium edule.

Aims: Aortic wall stiffening in ascending thoracic aortic aneurysm (aTAA) is common. However, the spatial and temporal relationships between stiffness, aortic size, and growth in aTAA remain unclear.

Methods And Results: In this single-centre retrospective study, we utilized vascular deformation mapping to extract multi-directional aortic motion, aortic distensibility, and aortic growth in a multi-planar fashion from multi-phasic ECG-gated computed tomography angiograms.

Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are multisystemic autoimmune disorders that can present with renal manifestations. Overlapping cases of these diseases are extremely rare and present both diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. We report the case of a 70-year-old male with a history of autoimmune pancreatitis, who was admitted with fatigue, weight loss, and worsening kidney function.

Background: Many women have difficulty in activating the pelvic floor muscles (PFM). This is a concerning factor for health professionals and public government institutions, as an unhealthy PFM could be associated with the presence of PFM dysfunctions. Therefore, the aim of the study was to analyze the agreement between the perception of young women about their PFM contraction and the results of a physical assessment, according to the strength, endurance, and contraction repetitions.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a widely used industrial chemical found in various products, leading to human exposure through dietary and non-dietary sources. It acts as an endocrine disruptor, affecting reproductive processes in vertebrates by binding to estrogen receptors. While its effects on vertebrates have been extensively studied, much less is known about its impact on invertebrates.

On-the-fly biofabrication of reproducible 3D tumor models at a pre-clinical level is highly desirable to level-up their applicability and predictive potential. Incorporating ECM biomolecular cues and its complex 3D bioarchitecture in the design stages of such in vitro platforms is essential to better recapitulate the native tumor microenvironment. To materialize these needs, herein we describe an innovative flow-on-repellent (FLORE) 3D extrusion bioprinting technique that leverages expedited and automatized bioink deposition onto a customized superhydrophobic printing bed.

We describe the design, synthesis, and structure-activity relationship (SAR) of heterobifunctional RET ligand-directed degraders (LDDs) derived from three different second-generation RET inhibitors. These LDDs are composed of a target binding motif (TBM) that binds to the RET protein, a linker, and a cereblon binding motif (CBM) as the E3 ligase recognition unit. This led to the identification of a series of pyrazolopyridine-based heterobifunctional LDDs, as exemplified by compound .

Introduction And Hypothesis: The objective was to cross-culturally adapt and check for the reliability, internal consistency, and validity of the Nocturia Quality of Life Questionnaire (N-QoL) in Brazilian Portuguese (N-QoL-Br).

Methods: The questionnaire was translated according to international guidelines, included forward-translation, back-translation, and consensus among an expert committee. Participants with nocturia completed the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Overactive Bladder, and the General Quality of Life Assessment Questionnaire SF-36 (Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey), in addition to the N-QoL-Br.

Purpose: The current study sought to evaluate the sexual function of transgender men and women and to identify associated factors.

Methods: Trans individuals who were outpatients at our gender incongruence (GI) center for follow-up of gender-affirming hormone therapy with age ranging 27 to 50 years were invited to participate in this cross-sectional study. Clinical data were collected from the medical records.

Introduction And Hypothesis: The Choosing Wisely campaign is an international initiative that is aimed at promoting a dialog between professionals, helping the population to choose an evidence-based, truly necessary and risk-free care. The aim of the study was to develop the Choosing Wisely Brazil list on Women's Health Physiotherapy in the area of the pelvic floor.

Methods: A observational study was carried out between January 2022 and July 2023, proposed by the Brazilian Association of Physiotherapy in Women's Health, and developed by researchers working in the area of the pelvic floor.

The diverse biomolecular landscape of tissue-specific decellularized extracellular matrix (dECM) biomaterials provides a multiplicity of bioinstructive cues to target cells, rendering them highly valuable for various biomedical applications. However, the isolation of dECM biomaterials entails cumbersome xenogeneic enzymatic digestions and also additional inactivation procedures. Such, increases processing time, increments costs and introduces residues of non-naturally present proteins in dECM formulations that remain present even after inactivation.

Background: Educational and self-care measures are important for women after gynecological pelvic cancer treatment. Pelvic floor muscle training exercises (PFMT) are a conservative treatment for pelvic floor (PF) dysfunction. The purpose is to evaluate the impact of a telerehabilitation and self-care program on PF dysfunctions, reports of urinary incontinence (UI), and physical-emotional factors of participants post-treatment for gynecological pelvic cancer.

Prcis: In this meta-analysis of 6 studies and 5269 patients, deep learning algorithms applied to AS-OCT demonstrated excellent diagnostic performance for closed angle compared with gonioscopy, with a pooled sensitivity and specificity of 94% and 93.6%, respectively.

Purpose: This study aimed to review the literature and compare the accuracy of deep learning algorithms (DLA) applied to anterior segment optical coherence tomography images (AS-OCT) against gonioscopy in detecting angle closure in patients with glaucoma.

Introduction And Objectives: Ruling out pulmonary embolism (PE) through a combination of clinical assessment and D-dimer level can potentially avoid excessive use of computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA). We aimed to compare the diagnostic accuracy of the standard approach based on the Wells and Geneva scores combined with a standard D-dimer cut-off (500 ng/ml), with three alternative strategies (age-adjusted and the YEARS and PEGeD algorithms) in patients admitted to the emergency department (ED) with suspected PE.

Methods: Consecutive outpatients admitted to the ED who underwent CTPA due to suspected PE were retrospectively assessed.

Background: Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is a rare inherited arrhythmia caused by mutations in the ryanodine receptor type 2 (RyR2). Diagnosis of CPVT often occurs after a major cardiac event, thus posing a severe threat to the patient's health.

Methods: Publication databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Embase, were searched for articles on patients with RyR2-CPVT mutations and their associated clinical presentation.
