Aim: To assess the efficacy and safety of non-penetrating deep sclerectomy (NPDS) with uveoscleral implant plus subconjunctival and intrascleral collagen matrix overcoming the superficial scleral flap lips (modified deep sclerectomy technique, DS) and minimal use of mitomycin C in glaucoma surgery.

Methods: A retrospective review of 47 consecutive glaucoma patients who underwent NPDS with DS between January 2017 and May 2018. Best-corrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure (IOP), post-operative need for glaucoma medications, visual field mean deviation (MD), re-interventions, needling revisions and laser goniopuncture were noted.

We report a case of ocular decompression retinopathy (ODR) with macular edema, diagnosed by optical coherence tomography, after a deep sclerectomy (DS) with an intrascleral implant, resolved with medical therapy 6 months later. The medical literature reports that in 14% of patients suffering from ODR, a pars plana vitrectomy was required, and 15% of patients had a poor final visual acuity. An otherwise healthy 75-year-old man with high myopia and a primary open-angle glaucoma, with previous intraocular pressure (IOP) of 24 mm Hg, underwent a DS with intrascleral implant without complications.

Purpose: To compare the supraciliary versus intrascleral implantation of the hema implant (Esnoper V-2000) in terms of the efficacy and safety in nonpenetrating deep sclerectomy (NPDS).

Patients And Methods: Prospective, randomized, unmasked, competitive and multicenter clinical trial. Eighty-three eyes from 83 patients suffering from open-angle glaucoma (40 males, 43 females) were enrolled and followed up for 12 months.

Purpose: To report 2-year results of deep sclerectomy (DS) with mitomycin C and the uveoscleral implant Esnoper-Clip (AJL Ophthalmics, Álava, Spain), a nonabsorbable hema implant, and the morphologic analysis of the surgical area with anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT).

Materials And Methods: In total, 41 eyes of 41 patients with medically uncontrolled open angle glaucoma who underwent DS with the uveoscleral implant were included in this prospective interventional study. Patients were recruited and selected sequentially.

Purpose: To report the safety and the effectiveness of deep sclerectomy (DS) with a new nonabsorbable uveoscleral hema implant (Esnoper-Clip) designed to increase trabecular and uveoscleral outflow and to achieve higher intrascleral blebs.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-seven eyes of 27 patients with open-angle glaucoma, who underwent DS with an Esnoper-Clip implant, were included in this study. All patients were followed up after 12 months.
