The authors report the surgical management and outcomes of neurotrophic keratopathy in two patients with Stüve-Weidemann syndrome who underwent single-stage bilateral corneal neurotization. Both patients experienced improvement in corneal sensation based on Cochet-Bonnet aesthesiometry measurements or cotton tip testing in addition to clinical improvement in ocular surface health. .

It can impact both the child and parent when regarding function, appearance, and psychosocial implications. The etiology of facial nerve palsy can include congenital, traumatic, iatrogenic, and idiopathic causes.

These effects lead to significantly improved functional outcomes and shorter recovery time. Electrical stimulation can be applied intra-operatively or immediately post-operatively.

Methods: This was a retrospective review of patients undergoing mastectomy with immediate TE reconstruction from March 2019 to March 2021. Patients were stratified into two cohorts; observation overnight (OBS), and discharge on same day of surgery (DC).
Medications prescribed for indications or at doses, frequencies or durations not approved by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration are considered "off- label". Critical illness makes seeking consent for off-label medication use impractical. We aimed to characterise the extent of off-label medication use in a tertiary medical- surgical intensive care unit (ICU) by auditing the electronic health records of all patients admitted over a one-month period.

The purpose of our study is to look at the rate of clinical trial registry searches conducted by SRs in the top five Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery journals.
Methods: We identified the top five plastic and reconstructive surgery journals using the Google h-5 index.
Background: Deep inferior epigastric artery perforator (DIEP) flap is a common method of breast reconstruction. Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) postoperative protocols have been used to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate shorter hospital stays. The effect of patient expectations on length of stay (LOS) after DIEP has not been evaluated.

Methods: PubMed was searched for randomized controlled trials published between 2008 and 2015 from 4 high impact cardio-thoracic journals: European Journal of Cardio-thoracic Surgery (EJCS), The Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery (JCS), The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (JTCS), and Annals of Cardiothoracic Surgery (ACS). Data was collected using a standardized extraction form.
