Background: Locking a compression plate is a more favorable surgical technique than intramedullary nailing in the treatment of distal femur fractures. This study analyzed the risk factors of proximal screw breakage retrospectively, which was confirmed in the patients with plate removal after bony union.

Methods: A total of 140 patients who were fixed by MIPO using ZPLP from 2009 to 2019 were identified.

Introduction: Chuna manual therapy (CMT) is a type of manual medicine practiced by Korean medical doctors in South Korea. Spinal diagnosis in CMT uses a system that applies manual diagnostic and X-ray tests to detect specific vertebral malpositions, based on the relative alignment across vertebral bodies. Recently, artificial intelligence (AI) programs have been developed to assist in the radiological diagnosis of CMT using X-ray images.

The purpose of this study is to determine 1) whether morphine post condition (MPostC) can attenuate the intercellular adhesion molecules-1 (ICAM-1) expression after reoxygenation injury and 2) the subtype(s) of the opioid receptors (ORs) that are involved with MPostC. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were subjected to 6 hr anoxia followed by 12 hr reoxygenation. Three morphine concentrations (0.

We examined the perceptions of consonant and dissonant chords to test auditory coherent percepts that are related to gamma oscillation. Consonant chords have coherent auditory properties due to the physical relationships of their components, in contrast to dissonant chords. EEGs were measured on 18 subjects with no musical expertise while they listened to consonant chords, dissonant chords, and single-note sounds and counted the number of single tones they heard.

Diffusion properties of the thalamocortical pathways were compared between 30 schizophrenic patients and 22 healthy age-matched and sex-matched volunteers. T1-weighted and diffusion tensor images were used for cortical parcellation and probabilistic tractography to generate population-based thalamocortical pathway maps. The weighted fractional anisotropy and the longitudinal and transversal diffusivity of each pathway were calculated for individual participants.
