Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of poloxamer-based thermo-sensitive sol-gel instillation, after transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), for preventing urethral stricture.

Patients And Methods: In all, 198 patients underwent TURP for benign prostatic hyperplasia. Recruited patients were randomly divided into two groups: groups A and B.

Purpose: To determine the prognostic effect of upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) with variant histology (VH) after radical nephroureterectomy (RNU).

Patients And Methods: The data of 1173 patients who received RNU for UTUC without neoadjuvant chemotherapy in 11 institutions between 2002 and 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. A matched propensity score analysis was performed.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic value of preoperative systemic inflammation markers in upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC).

Methods: A total of 1137 patients who underwent radical nephroureterectomy with bladder cuff excision at 9 institutions from 2004 to 2015, were retrospectively reviewed. The Glasgow Prognostic Score (GPS), modified GPS (mGPS), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) for each patient were calculated.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of preoperative chronic kidney disease (CKD) on the prognosis of patients with upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) who had undergone radical nephroureterectomy (RNU).

Results: The median follow-up period was 31.1 months (interquartile range: 16.

Purpose: Recently, several studies have shown that the De Ritis ratio (aspartate transaminase/alanine transaminase) can be a useful prognostic biomarker for certain types of malignant tumors. However, the prognostic value of the De Ritis ratio in patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma remains largely unknown. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the prognostic significance of the De Ritis ratio in patients who had undergone radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) for upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of diabetes mellitus (DM) and preoperative glycemic control on prognosis in Korean patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) who underwent radical nephroureterectomy (RNU).

Materials And Methods: A total of 566 patients who underwent RNU at six institutions between 2004 and 2014 were reviewed retrospectively. Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analyses were performed to assess the association between DM, preoperative glycemic control, and recurrence-free, cancer-specific, and overall survival.

Purpose: We evaluated the long-term outcome of a readjustable midurethral sling system (Remeex) in the treatment of recurrence of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) after surgical treatment or SUI with intrinsic sphincter deficiency (ISD).

Materials And Methods: This study included 19 patients who underwent the Remeex procedure with a mean of 45.6 months of follow-up.

Purpose: Chronic prostatitis (CP) does not yet have a universally successful therapy. Alternative treatments including thermotherapy have been adopted in the multimodal management of pain and voiding dysfunction. We retrospectively analyzed the therapeutic efficacy of bipolar radiofrequency thermotherapy for patients who were unsatisfied with conventional medication for CP.

Purpose: The Remeex (Mechanical External Regulation) sling is a mid-urethral sling that allows adjustment of the sling tension in the postoperative period. We evaluated the early outcomes of the procedure in patients in whom the success rate of tension-free slings is low, such as with intrinsic sphincter deficiency (ISD).

Materials And Methods: We included 17 women with urodynamically proven stress urinary incontinence (SUI) who underwent the Remeex procedure and were followed for at least 12 months.

Benzo(a)pyrene (BaP), a potent carcinogen, has been shown to induce apoptosis via activation of caspase-3. However, the upstream of caspase-3 and other apoptosis signaling remain to be elusive. Herein, we demonstrated that treatment of Hepa1c1c7 cells with BaP increased the transcriptional expression of aryl hydrocarbon nuclear transporter and cytochrome p450 1A1 in a time and dose-dependent manner but did not aromatic hydrocarbon receptor.
