Watershed water quality modeling to predict changing water quality is an essential tool for devising effective management strategies within watersheds. Process-based models (PBMs) are typically used to simulate water quality modeling. In watershed modeling utilizing PBMs, it is crucial to effectively reflect the actual watershed conditions by appropriately setting the model parameters.

Methods: The study was observer-blind to evaluate the lot-to-lot consistency of RSVPreF3, and single-blind to evaluate the immune response, safety, and reactogenicity of RSVPreF3 co-administered with FLU-D-QIV.
Results: A total of 1415 participants were included in the per-protocol set.
The intrauterine environment plays a critical role in shaping chronic disease risk over the life course. We prospectively evaluated cardiometabolic outcomes in toddlers born to mothers with versus without prenatal severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection. Children with in utero severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 exposure had higher left ventricular mass in association with altered maternal immunologic indices.

Endotracheal suctioning is an essential but labor-intensive procedure, with the risk of serious complications. A brand new automatic closed-suction device was developed to alleviate the workload of healthcare providers and minimize those complications. We evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of the automatic suction system in mechanically ventilated patients with pneumonia.

This estimation relies on line counts, typically 16 cm in panel width, obtained through image processing on the panel floor, along with wheel encoder information and inertial sensor data. To achieve accurate line counts, we introduce two adjusted threshold values and allow offsets in these values based on the robot's speed.

Methods: This phase 2, randomized, placebo-controlled, single-dose, multicenter study enrolled healthy, nonpregnant women, randomized 1:1:1:1:1 to 5 parallel groups studying RSVPreF3 (60 or 120 µg) coadministered with diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis vaccine (dTpa) or placebo, and dTpa coadministered with placebo. Safety and humoral immune responses were assessed.
A nanoporous silver film (npAgF), a promising structure for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), can be fabricated by using successive O and Ar plasma treatments on a planar silver film. The common dealloying method for producing an npAgF involves annealing at high temperatures to produce an alloy film, as well as harsh etching using corrosive chemicals. By contrast, the plasma-based method can be applied directly to various functional substrates to produce more sophisticated npAgF structures.

Half-bridge silicon strain gauges are widely used in the fabrication of diaphragm-type high-pressure sensors, but in some applications, they suffer from low output sensitivity because of mounting position constraints. Through a special design and fabrication approach, a new half-bridge silicon strain gauge comprising one arc gauge responding to tangential strain and another linear gauge measuring radial strain was developed using Silicon-on-Glass (SiOG) substrate technology. The tangential gauge consists of grid patterns, such as the reciprocating arc of silicon piezoresistors on a thin glass substrate.

A photoplethysmogram (PPG) is extensively used in clinical environments as well as in intensive care units (ICUs) to primarily monitor peripheral circulation while capturing indirect information about intrathoracic pressure changes. This study aims to apply and evaluate several deep learning models using a PPG for the continuous and accurate estimation of the RRs of patients.

For this purpose, a SWCNT film was formed on the surface of a glass substrate using a self-made spray device using SWCNT powder prepared with DCB as a solvent, and SEM, AFM, and XPS analyses were performed as the SWCNT film was O plasma etched. SEM images and AFM measurements showed that the SWCNT film started etching after about 30 s under 50 W of O plasma irradiation and was completely etched after about 300 s.

However, a comprehensive understanding of their interfacial behaviors remains elusive. In this paper, we control the interfacial anchoring orientation of polystyrene nanodumbbells by adjusting interparticle forces.

We developed a method for the early on-site detection of strawberry anthracnose using a portable Raman system with multivariate statistical analysis algorithms. By using molecular markers based on Raman spectra, the proposed method can detect anthracnose in strawberry stems 3 days after exposure to Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. A fiber-optic probe was applied for the portable Raman system, and the acquisition time was 10 s.

The prognostic value of central BP according to ESUS subtype was also evaluated. We recruited patients with ESUS and data on their central BP parameters (central systolic BP [SBP], central diastolic BP [DBP], central pulse pressure [PP], augmentation pressure [AP], and augmentation index [AIx]) during admission.

However, most CPE-based sensors have serious problems in real-world application because the sensor system is operated only when the CPE is dissolved in aqueous media. Here, the fabrication and performance of a water-swellable (WS) CPE-based sensor driven in the solid state are demonstrated.

However, the four-single-gauge configuration increases the number of glass frit bonds and the number of aluminum wire bonds, reducing the long-term stability, reliability, and yield of the diaphragm pressure sensor. In this study, a new design of general-purpose silicon strain gauges was developed to improve the sensor output voltage while reducing the number of bonds.

This study was conducted to determine the role of fundus photography as a noninvasive and readily available tool for assessing neurologic dysfunction among patients with PD using deep learning methods.
Objective: To develop an algorithm that can predict Hoehn and Yahr (H-Y) scale and Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale part III (UPDRS-III) score using fundus photography among patients with PD.
The numerical study was conducted to compare process performance depending on the pump type and process configuration. The daily monitoring data of seawater temperature and salinity offshore from Daesan, Republic of Korea was used to reflect the site-specific seawater conditions. An algorithm for reverse osmosis in constant permeate mode was developed to simulate the process in time-variant conditions.

An array of disk-shaped TiO, with a diameter of several hundred nanometers, combined with SiO pedestals was fabricated directly on the surface of an InGaN-based near-ultraviolet (UV) LED using a dry etching process. The high refractive-index contrast at the boundary and the circular shape can effectively confine the near-UV light generated from the LED through multiple internal reflections inside the TiO nanodisks.
