Background: Although the Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI) equation has been recommended for accurate estimates of glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), there is little information regarding differences in GFR estimates obtained using the Cockcroft-Gault (CG) or Modification of Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD) equations in East Asian cancer patients. We investigated discrepancies in GFR and toxicities in patients treated with cisplatin-based chemotherapy using three equations equations.
Methods: A total of 229 patients were retrospectively recruited.
Unlabelled: Backgound: This study evaluated whether the hydration status affected health-related quality of life (HRQOL) during 12 months in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients.
Methods: The hydration status and the HRQOL were examined at baseline and after 12 months using a bioimpedance spectroscopy and Kidney Disease Quality of Life-Short Form, respectively in PD patients. Four hundred eighty-one patients were included and divided according to the baseline overhydration (OH) value; normohydration group (NH group, -2L≤ OH ≤+2L, n=266) and overhydration group (OH group, OH >+2L, n=215).
Mushroom exposures are increasing worldwide. The incidence and fatality of mushroom poisoning are reported to be increasing. Several new syndromes in mushroom poisoning have been described.

The most common clinical presentations of sclerosing peritonitis in peritoneal dialysis patients are ultrafiltration failure and small bowel obstruction.

Acute renal failure with severe loin pain which develops after anaerobic exercise is rare. One of predisposing factors of exercise-induced acute renal failure is renal hypouricemia. Idiopathic renal hypouricemia is a genetic disorder characterized by hypouricemia with abnormally high renal tubular uric acid excretion.

We registered 3,288 patients with renal biopsy and analyzed the relationship between the use of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) blockade and the incidence of cancer or cancer mortality. After renal biopsy, cancer developed in 33 patients with an incidence rate of 1.

Methods: We studied 199 patients with idiopathic MN followed up for 3.
Bartter-like syndrome encompasses a set of inherited renal tubular disorders associated with hypokalemic metabolic alkalosis, renal salt wasting, hyperreninemic hyperaldosteronism, and normal blood pressure. Antenatal Bartter syndrome, a subtype of Bartter-like syndrome, is characterized by polyhydramnios, premature delivery, life-threatening episodes of fever and dehydration during the early weeks of life, growth retardation, hypercalciuria, and early-onset nephrocalcinosis. Mutations in the bumetanide-sensitive Na-K-2Cl cotransporter (NKCC2) and ATP-sensitive inwardly rectifying potassium channel (ROMK) of the thick ascending limb of Henle's loop have been identified in the antenatal Bartter syndrome.
