The revolutionary impact of photoredox catalytic processes has ignited novel avenues for exploration, empowering us to delve into nature in unprecedented ways and to pioneer innovative biotechnologies for therapy and diagnosis. However, integrating artificial photoredox catalysis into living systems presents significant challenges, primarily due to concerns over low targetability, low compatibility with complex biological environments, and the safety risks associated with photocatalyst toxicity. To address these challenges, herein, we present a novel bioorthogonally activatable photoredox catalysis approach.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFImmuno-photodynamic therapy (IPDT) has emerged as a new modality for cancer treatment. Novel photosensitizers can help achieve the promise inherent in IPDT, namely, the complete eradication of a tumor without recurrence. We report here a small molecule photosensitizer conjugate, LuCXB.

However, controlling the wavelength corresponding to operating conditions remains challenging while maintaining high ROS generation. To address this challenge, we implement a wavelength-engineerable imidazolium-based porous organic photocatalytic ROS generation system (KUP system) via a cost-effective one-pot reaction.

As emerging carbon-based low-dimensional materials, graphyne family members (GYF), represented by graphdiyne, have a wide range potential applications due to their superior physical and chemical properties. In particular, graphdiyne (GDY), as the leader of the graphyne family, has been practically applied to various research fields since it was first successfully synthesized.

We construct a screening pipeline using machine learning classification integrated with similarity checks of approved drugs to find new inhibitors. The statistical metrics reveal that the random forest approach has slightly better performance.

The linker between the Pt(II) center and the spin carrier was systematically varied, to probe the effect on the sign and magnitude of the spin exchange interactions between the radical ligands and photophysical properties. The complexes were studied with steady-state and femtosecond/nanosecond transient absorption spectroscopy, continuous-wave electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy, and density functional theory (DFT) computations.

A new family of bipyridine-based ligands (d-, l-, d-, and d-) possessing hydrazine and d- or l-alanine moieties at the alkyl chain groups has been designed and synthesized. Interestingly, upon addition of AgNO (0.

Herein, we have developed a two-photon probe (PCP-1) for selectively targeting and imaging the MAO-A in PCa. Supported by enzymatic docking and in vitro experiments, PCP-1 showed efficiency to visualize MAO-A overexpressing cells and inhibit their growth and metastasis potential.
