Objectives: The use of Out of Area (OoA) psychiatric placements for people with "Personality Disorder" (PD) is widespread in the UK. An innovative local intensive psychotherapeutic service, adapted to the transdiagnostic presentations of the most complex PD patients, likely to be placed out of the area, was devised in the English County of Devon. This paper reports the findings of a Freedom of Information (FOI) request to commissioners attempting to quantify PD OoA placements in England and the cost offset of the local therapeutic alternative to OoA placements in Devon.

Outcomes of press-fit radial head arthroplasty in unconstructable radial head fractures with associated elbow injuries: An average 5-year follow up.

Aims: Unstable and nonreconstructable radial head fractures require radial head arthroplasty (RHA) to restore stability. Multiple implant designs are available with varying survival rates (76 to 97%). There is concern that loosening of the press-fit stems leads to implant failure.

Unacceptable Behaviors Towards Health Professional Clinical Students: Protocol For a Mixed-Methods Study.

Background And Aims: Previous studies describe the occurrence of unacceptable behaviors reported by students pursuing health professional education in Aotearoa, New Zealand and across the globe. These include, but are not limited to, experiences of verbal abuse, sexual harassment, and discrimination based on race/ethnicity, religious beliefs, gender, and sexual orientation. University of Otago teaching staff across the various health professional programs often receive anecdotal reports of these phenomena from their clinical students.

Short-Term Outcomes of a Healthy Relationship Intervention for the Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault in the US Military: Pilot Pretest-Postest Study.

Background: Sexual harassment (SH) and sexual assault (SA) are serious public health problems among US service members. Few SH and SA prevention interventions have been developed exclusively for the military. Code of Respect (X-CoRe) is an innovative web-based, multilevel, SA and SH intervention designed exclusively for the active-duty Air Force.

The recent Special Issue of considered "The Future of Affective Science," offering new directions for the field. One recurring theme was the need to consider the social nature of emotional experiences. In this article, we take an interdisciplinary approach toward studies of social connection that builds upon current theoretical foundations to address an important public health issue - loneliness.

Limitations of Blood Pressure Measurements in Pediatric Trauma Patients During Field Triage.

Introduction: Recent revisions of national field triage guidelines recommend the addition of age-specific systolic blood pressure (SBP) measurement for identifying the most severely injured children requiring transport to a trauma center. The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency in which blood pressures are documented by Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers and the role this measurement has had, among other factors, in triage decisions.

Methods: This is an exploratory descriptive study with a retrospective review from the trauma registry database of all pediatric trauma admissions that arrived by EMS at a level II pediatric trauma center from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2022.

Purpose: Mesenchymal neoplasms composed of vascular, smooth muscle, and adipocytic components are uncommon in the nasal cavity. While angioleiomyoma (AL) is a smooth muscle tumor in the Head & Neck WHO classification, it is considered of pericytic origin in the Skin as well as Soft Tissue and Bone classifications. For nasal AL with an adipocytic component, the terms AL with adipocytic differentiation and angiomyolipoma (AML) have been applied, among others.

Background: Dietary supplement (DS) use is common and increasing among older adults, though much data available on use frequencies are from surveys and performed cross-sectionally. This paper sought to assess the frequency and pattern of dietary supplement use among older adults over time.

Methods: A secondary analysis of data from the AAA LongROAD study, a longitudinal prospective cohort study of older adult drivers, using data from baseline and the first two years of follow up included a total of 2990 drivers aged 65-79 years recruited at five study sites across the US from July 2015 to March 2017.

Background: Sacituzumab govitecan (sacituzumab) emerged as an important agent in metastatic and locally recurrent HER2-negative breast cancer treatment. UGT1A1 polymorphisms have also been shown to predict sacituzumab toxicity.

Methods: In this retrospective study, we sought to evaluate the associations between UGT1A1 status, toxicity, and therapeutic outcomes in sacituzumab recipients with advanced breast cancer who underwent genotype testing for UGT1A1 alleles (N = 68).

This resulted in the synthesis of new compounds AELn(BO)X (AE = Ca, Sr; Ln = Pr, Nd, Eu, Tb; X = Cl, Br) and AELn(BO) (AE = Sr, Ba; Ln = Pr, Nd) as well as the synthesis of two compounds of BaLn(BO)(BO) (Ln = Eu, Tb) crystallizing in a new structure type.

Objectives: Large Language Models (LLMs) have been proposed as a solution to address high volumes of Patient Medical Advice Requests (PMARs). This study addresses whether LLMs can generate high quality draft responses to PMARs that satisfies both patients and clinicians with prompt engineering.

Materials And Methods: We designed a novel human-involved iterative processes to train and validate prompts to LLM in creating appropriate responses to PMARs.

Assessing Team Performance: A Mixed-Methods Analysis Using Interprofessional Simulation.

Introduction: Optimizing the performance of emergency department (ED) teams impacts patient care, but the utility of current, team-based performance assessment tools to comprehensively measure this impact is underexplored. In this study we aimed to 1) evaluate ED team performance using current team-based assessment tools during an interprofessional in situ simulation and 2) identify characteristics of effective ED teams.

Methods: This mixed-methods study employed case study methodology based on a constructivist paradigm.

Impact of Mastectomy Flap Necrosis on Patient-Reported Quality-of-Life Measures After Nipple-Sparing Mastectomy: A Preliminary Analysis.

Background: Mastectomy skin flap necrosis (SFN) is common following nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM), but studies on its quality-of-life (QOL) impact are limited. We examined patient-reported QOL and satisfaction after NSM with/without SFN utilizing the BREAST-Q patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) survey.

Patients And Methods: Patients undergoing NSM between April 2018 and July 2021 at our institution were examined; the BREAST-Q PROM was administered preoperatively, and at 6 months and 1 year postoperatively.

Reasons for Gun Ownership Among Demographically Diverse New and Prior Gun Owners.

Introduction: Pandemic-era social and political tensions may have accelerated pre-existing trends in gun owner diversification and shifts toward protection from people as a primary reason for gun ownership. Specific ownership motivations may shape storage behaviors, use patterns, policy support, and perceptions of safety. This study's objective was to assess the importance of specific reasons for owning guns, including protection from whom and in what circumstances, among demographic subgroups of new and prior gun owners.

Using 100 videos posted to TikTok by harm reduction creators with the hashtags #narcansaveslives and #naloxonesaveslives, this study examines who is posting, what they are saying, and how they are explaining Narcan/naloxone to their followers. Incorporating the concept of reverse agenda setting, we examine how, through hashtags, TikTok creators can set the agenda for what is important to discuss in the harm reduction space. Findings demonstrate that harm reduction creators have developed a collective voice and created an affective public, attempting to educate others, shed stigma, and normalize the conversation around harm reduction.
