- Various assays were conducted to determine the extract's antioxidant activity, revealing SmEE's ability to significantly reduce ulcer size in models induced by ethanol and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
- The findings indicate that not only does SmEE have protective effects on the gastric mucosa, but GA and EA also work together synergistically to enhance this protection against ulcers.
