- - The study aimed to evaluate how well the Active School Day policy increased physical activity levels and to estimate the costs involved in implementing the program in Boston elementary schools from February to June 2011.
- - It involved 455 fourth- and fifth-grade students across six matched schools, where the program promoted at least 150 minutes of quality physical education and activity through improved resources and training for educators.
- - Results indicated that students in intervention schools significantly increased their moderate-to-vigorous physical activity during school hours and reduced sedentary time, with an annual cost of about $4,523 per school for continued implementation.
