Understanding Medical Standards for Entrance Into Military Service and Disqualifying Dermatologic Conditions.

The military is a desirable career field for many young adults; however, the Department of Defense (DoD) requires its members to maintain a level of health necessary to meet the physical demands of military duties and be able to deploy to austere environments. The strict standards are designed to protect the health of the individual and maximize mission success. Standards for entrance into the US Armed Forces, called accession standards, are codified in DoD Instruction 6130.

Trichoblastic carcinosarcoma: an authentic cutaneous carcinosarcoma.

We describe a trichoblastic carcinosarcoma on the forehead of a 65-year-old man. This is the fifth case of trichoblastic carcinosarcoma in the literature and the first to be reported from the USA. It was successfully treated with direct excision.

Here we report the oxidation-led edge-roughening and cleavage of long graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) (150 nm wide) synthesized via nanotomy (nanoscale cutting) of graphite (with 2 nm edged diamond knife) to produce graphene quantum dots (GQD).
