Background: Acute appendicitis is one of the most common surgical emergencies worldwide. Preoperative assessment of the risk of complicated appendicitis may aid in treatment planning. We sought to investigate the association between pre-appendectomy hyponatremia and diagnosis of complicated appendicitis.
