Infantile bullous pemphigoid successfully treated with combined pulse corticosteroids and high-dose IVIG.

Bullous pemphigoid is the most common autoimmune blistering disorder in the elderly. It affects people aged 70 years or older. Clinically it is characterized by intensely pruritic eruption consisting of widespread tense blisters on an erythematous background.

[Cardiac manifestation of Morgagni hernia--a case report].

The Morgagni hernia is a rare condition caused by the disturbances in the embryonal development of the diaphragm. The high pressure in the abdominal cavity during the persistent constipations or in pregnant women seems to be important predisposing factor apart from advanced age, obesity, vertebral column deformities and the connective tissue diseases. That is why the Morgagni hernia is very rarely diagnosed in children but usually in women in their fifties.

[Diagnosis and venom specific immunotherapy (VIT) in allergic children in Poland--how much the current practice follows the international guidelines?].

Introduction: Insect venom allergy requires a high level approach adequate to allergy intensity. In case of severe IgE-mediated sting reactions, in children older than five years, venom immunotherapy is a treatment of choice.

Aim: Identification of current practices applied to venom allergic children in Poland and their adherence to the international guidelines.
