Purpose: We aim to investigate the localization, visibility, and measurement of lung nodules in digital chest tomosynthesis (DTS).
Approach: Computed tomography (CT), maximum intensity projections (CT-MIP) (transaxial versus coronal orientation), and computer-aided detection (CAD) were used as location reference, and inter- and intra-observer agreement regarding lung nodule size was assessed. Five radiologists analyzed DTS and CT images from 24 participants with lung , focusing on lung nodule localization, visibility, and measurement on DTS.
Purpose: A causal role of type-I interferons (IFN-I) in autoinflammatory type-I interferonopathies such as SAVI (STING-associated vasculopathy with onset in infancy) and CANDLE (chronic atypical neutrophilic dermatosis with lipodystrophy and elevated temperatures) is suggested by elevated expression of IFN-I stimulated genes (ISGs). Hitherto, the lack of specific inhibitors of IFN-I signaling has prevented the verification of a causal role for IFN-I in these conditions. Commonly used inhibitors of the JAK/STAT pathway exert broad effects on multiple signaling pathways leading to more general immunosuppression beyond IFN-I signaling.

Ten Long COVID patients, 7 convalescent subjects after COVID infection and 4 healthy controls were enrolled. When adjusted for sex, children with long COVID had statistically significant differences in the levels of Flt3L, CD5, uPA, CCL23, CD40 and TGFα.

Motion artifacts induced by breathing motion adversely impact the image quality. This study aims to reduce these artifacts by excluding projection images identified with breathing motion prior to the reconstruction of section images and to assess if motion compensation improves overall image quality.

Background: Women with newly diagnosed hormone receptor-positive breast cancer are offered adjuvant endocrine therapy (AET). Despite the survival benefits of the therapy, a significant proportion of breast cancer patients do not adhere to the anti-hormonal medication.
Aims: The purpose of this study was to analyse demographic, social, psychological and treatment-related factors influencing whether women diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer were adherent to offered therapy.

On this background, we sought to examine whether autoantibodies against type I interferons were associated with adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination. These proteins control the adhesion molecules and cytoskeletal dynamics required for neutrophil recruitment to inflamed and infected organs, and the neutrophil effector responses that kill pathogens.
Methods: Here, we used live cell TIRF-FRET imaging in neutrophils from Rac-FRET reporter mice with deficiencies in the Rac-GEFs Dock2, Tiam1 or Prex1/Vav1 to evaluate if these proteins activate spatiotemporally distinct pools of Rac, and to correlate patterns of Rac activity with the neutrophil responses they control.
