Eosinophilic oesophagitis (EO) is now established as an important cause of oesophageal symptoms. It is presumed to result from eosinophilic activation to dietary antigens, which is limited to the oesophagus. Inflammatory strictures and secondary dysmotility are common and contribute to symptomatology.
