Aims: To conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the efficacy of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) in treating temporomandibular myofascial pain in adults compared to laser placebo.

Methods: Randomized, placebo-controlled studies were identified by a search on March 2, 2016 and updated on February 9, 2017 in the PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases. Three of the authors assessed the studies for risk of bias.

Purpose: This study aimed to describe the phenotype of Australian patients with a clinical diagnosis of dominant optic atrophy (DOA) and provide long-term follow-up data on its natural history.

Design: Retrospective analysis.

Methods: All patients with the clinical diagnosis of DOA observed during a 30-year period at a single tertiary referral center (Save Sight Institute, Sydney Eye Hospital, Sydney, Australia) with at least 12 months of follow-up were included in the study.

This study investigated the energetics of the human ankle during the stance phase of downhill walking with the goal of modeling ankle behavior with a passive spring and damper mechanism. Kinematic and kinetic data were collected on eight male participants while walking down a ramp with inclination varying from 0° to 8°. The ankle joint moment in the sagittal plane was calculated using inverse dynamics.

Tubal obstruction is a recognized complication of glaucoma drainage implants. In correcting a blocked tube, the surgeon may be uncertain about shunt competence even after removing the suspected cause of obstruction. We report the use of trypan blue dye to show tubal patency directly after the repair of a blocked Baerveldt tube.

Background: Pregnant women often remark that their balance degrades during pregnancy; however, it appears that no studies have documented the gravida's perception of her balance nor measured direction-specific changes in balance throughout pregnancy or after delivery.

Methods: Thirty women, fifteen pregnant and fifteen non-pregnant controls, were tested monthly and through 6-month postpartum. For each session, perceived degradation in sense of balance, laboratory-based balance measures, stance width, and the number of falls since the previous session were recorded.
