Elective undergraduate courses are offered at the University of Georgia and the University of Florida that explore veterinary careers, offer guidance on being a successful veterinary school applicant, and expose students to the reality of the profession through guest speakers. Students ( = 276) from both universities responded to a survey offered at the first and last class period over the course of five semesters. Using 100-point Likert scales, students were asked to gauge their opinion of and interest in the profession and demonstrate their confidence in various aspects of building a successful application.

Skeletal muscle is characterized by a remarkable plasticity to adapt to stimuli such as contractile activity, loading conditions, substrate supply or environmental factors. The existing knowledge of muscle plasticity along with developed genetic and genomic technologies, have enabled creating animal breeding strategies and allowed for implementing agriculturally successful porcine genetic improvement programs. The objective of this study was to determine the daily dietary nicotinamide riboside (NR) dose required to maximize the delay of subjective muscle fatigue onset. Barrows ( = 100) were assigned to one of five treatments: a conventional swine finishing diet containing 0 (CON), 15 (15NR), 30 (30NR), 45 (45NR) mg·kg body weight·d NR, or CON supplemented with 45 mg·kg body weight·d NR by drench or cookie dough (DRE). Background: During a program review, faculty identified that nurse practitioner (NP) students who received a C grade in Advanced Pathophysiology (Patho) and Advanced Pharmacology (Pharm) appeared to perform poorly in the later NP management courses and on other program outcomes.

Canine core vaccine titer screenings are becoming increasingly popular in veterinary practice as a tool to guide vaccination decisions, despite a lack of supportive, peer-reviewed evidence-based literature. Additionally, it has been suggested that the canine core vaccine duration of host protective immunity can persist past the currently recommended vaccination interval. Thus, this study evaluated serum antibody titers against three core antigens in dogs with known vaccination histories and lifestyles, analyzing the effect of life stage, exposure risk, and time since last vaccination (TSLV).
