The American Society for Surgery of the Hand and British Society for Surgery of the Hand produce patient-focused information above the sixth-grade readability recommended by the American Medical Association. To promote health equity, patient-focused content should be aimed at an appropriate level of health literacy. Artificial intelligence-driven large language models may be able to assist hand surgery societies in improving the readability of the information provided to patients.

To date, comparative studies among species at global scales have mostly focused on horizontal movements. Our study addresses the knowledge gap of vertical movements by compiling the first global synthesis of vertical habitat use by elasmobranchs from data obtained by deployment of 989 biotelemetry tags on 38 elasmobranch species.

During the COVID19 Pandemic there was a significant increase in the number of household injuries. Many of these injuries occur commonly in the home and they presented in increased proportions due to lockdown measures.

These traits make them susceptible to targeted and by-catch fisheries and are listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. Multiple studies have examined fisheries impacts, but nursery areas or foraging neonate and juvenile concentrations have not been examined.

We report 17 years of multidisciplinary care of these tumors with univariate and multivariate analyses of key prognostic indicators for consideration in contemporary oncological management. This is a retrospective cohort study.

Perineal flap reconstruction is associated with less wound morbidity but little is known about oncological outcomes. The objective was to compare outcomes in patients undergoing APE before and after the introduction of a program that utilized flap reconstruction of the perineum.

No difference was found between male and female JWS length-mass relationships, but data suggest that JWS in the SCB gain more mass per unit length for the juvenile size classes compared with other C. carcharias populations.

Unlike marine mammals, they neither surface to breathe nor frequent haul-out sites, hindering generation of abundance data required to estimate population size. A recent tag-recapture study used photographic identifications of white sharks at two aggregation sites to estimate abundance in "central California" at 219 mature and sub-adult individuals.

To assess the potential contributions of dietary exposure to the observed levels, a five-parameter bioaccumulation model was used to estimate the total loads a newborn shark would potentially accumulate in one year from consuming contaminated prey from southern California. Maximum simulated dietary accumulation of DDTs and PCBs were 25.

Operative intervention is reserved for burns that fail to heal using conservative methods. Worldwide, paraffin-based gauze (Jelonet) is the most common burn dressing; but literature suggests that it adheres to wounds and requires more frequent dressing change that may traumatize newly epithelialized surfaces.
