Background: The use of fat grafting has expanded to include cell and tissue regeneration, necessitating investigations to ensure the viability of stromal and adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ASCs) within the transferred fat parcels. This study explored the impact of harvesting technique and centrifugation on the viability of stromal cells and ASCs in lipoaspirate.
Methods: Fat was harvested from patients undergoing fat grafting using 2 types of liposuction cannula: (A) a 3-mm blunt tip cannula with 3 smooth holes and (B) a 2.
Introduction: Pressure injuries remain a major burden worldwide with associated morbidity and financial implications. Patients in the ICU, such as those with severe COVID-19, are especially susceptible to PI as they remain immobile for extended durations while intubated.
Objective: This report examines a case of stage 4 PI in a senior COVID-19 survivor treated with adjunct intravenous and intralesional aaPRP therapy in addition to topical hyaluronic acid/silver sulfadiazine cream and framycetin sulphate dressing.

Background: Even with satisfactory anastomosis technique and adequate experience of the surgeon, flap loss due to thrombosis can still occur due to the patient's underlying condition. Patients with hypercoagulability due to etiologies such as malignancy, hereditary conditions, and acquired thrombophilia are among those who could benefit from free flap procedures. Methods: This retrospective observational study enrolled 45 consecutive patients with 63 operative fields consisting of various hand and upper extremity problems. One-per-mil solution was injected into the operative field with tumescent technique to create a bloodless operating field without tourniquet.
