Background: A complex inheritance has been suggested in families with colorectal-, gastric- and prostate cancer. Therefore, we conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) in colorectal cancer patients, who's relatives had prostate-, and/or gastric cancer.
Methods: The GWAS analysis consisted of 685 cases of colorectal cancer and 4780 healthy controls from Sweden.
Anastomotic leak is a serious complication after esophagectomy. Endoscopic vacuum therapy (EVT) has become increasingly popular in treating upper gastrointestinal anastomotic leaks over the last years. We are here reporting our current complete experience with EVT as primary treatment for anastomotic leak following esophagectomy.

The family history of cancer cases was registered, in search of associations between gastric cancer and other cancer types.
