Article Synopsis
  • Software Defined Networking (SDN) allows centralized control of networks but introduces a single point of failure that increases security risks.
  • Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS) aim to prevent intrusions and maintain network security, yet they still face challenges like reducing false alarms and improving detection accuracy.
  • Recent advancements in deep learning and machine learning are being explored to enhance SDN-based NIDS, with the paper discussing current research, evaluating new approaches, and highlighting future research opportunities and challenges.

Body Area Networks (BANs) consist of various sensors which gather patient's vital signs and deliver them to doctors. One of the most significant challenges faced, is the design of an energy-efficient next hop selection algorithm to satisfy Quality of Service (QoS) requirements for different healthcare applications. In this paper, a novel efficient next hop selection algorithm is proposed in multi-hop BANs.
