Background: Digital health lifestyle interventions (DHLI) may offer scalable solutions to manage prediabetes in clinical practice; however, their effectiveness on people with prediabetes has not been systematically investigated and reviewed. Hence, in this systematic review, meta-analysis, and meta-regression the effectiveness of DHLI on prediabetes-related outcomes was investigated.
Methods: Four databases were searched to identify randomized controlled trials investigating the effectiveness of DHLI on adults with prediabetes published before 23 February 2024.
Airway constriction and blockage in obstructive lung diseases cause ventilation heterogeneity and create barriers to effective drug deposition. Established computational particle-deposition models have not accounted for these impacts of disease. We present a new particle-deposition model that calculates ventilation based on the resistance of each airway, such that ventilation responds to airway constriction.

Background: Critically ill patients experience cognitive impairment throughout their intensive care unit trajectory, in the acute phase and the long-term alike. Cognitive impairment may negatively impact patients' quality of life and rehabilitation outcomes.
Aim: To provide an overall examination of literature concerning non-pharmacological interventions that can enhance cognitive functioning in critically ill patients or facilitate their rehabilitation pathway during and after their intensive care unit stay.
Objectives: To examine the association of novel furosemide versus thiazide diuretic exposure with changes in serum sodium, potassium, and chloride levels among infants with grade 2/3 bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD).
Study Design: Retrospective cohort study of infants admitted to a level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with grade 2/3 BPD. We measured within-subject change in serum sodium, potassium, and chloride before and after diuretic initiation using multivariable regression to adjust for differences in dosing and clinical covariates.
Purpose: Our aim was to develop new evidence-based and consensus-based recommendations for the initial inhospital management of lower-extremity injuries in patients with multiple and/or severe trauma. This guideline topic is part of the 2022 update of the German Guideline on the Treatment of Patients with multiple and/or severe Injuries.
Methods: MEDLINE and Embase were systematically searched to May 2021.
The CACHE challenges are a series of prospective benchmarking exercises to evaluate progress in the field of computational hit-finding. Here we report the results of the inaugural CACHE challenge in which 23 computational teams each selected up to 100 commercially available compounds that they predicted would bind to the WDR domain of the Parkinson's disease target LRRK2, a domain with no known ligand and only an apo structure in the PDB. The lack of known binding data and presumably low druggability of the target is a challenge to computational hit finding methods.

Here we investigated three non-invasive biomarkers: type VI collagen degraded by granzyme B (C4G) and matrix metalloproteases (C4M), respectively, and ADAM10-degraded Tau (Tau-A).
Methods: Biomarker levels in pre- and on-treatment serum samples from patients with recurrent GBM (n = 39) treated with nivolumab and bevacizumab (NCT03890952) were compared to healthy levels (n = 22) and associated with overall survival (OS) outcome (median cutpoint).

A link has been suggested between insulin resistance and breast cancer, which is the most common cancer in women.
