An atypically located pleomorphic adenoma: Radiological and pathological correlation.

Pleomorphic adenoma is a common benign salivary gland neoplasm which very rarely occurs in the breast. Its radiologic and pathologic appearance may be mistaken for other benign or malignant lesions such as a fibroadenoma or invasive ductal carcinoma. Due to the risk of local recurrence and, rarely, malignant transformation, wide local excision with clear margins is recommended.

Background: Women with impalpable or poorly palpable breast cancer require radiologically guided localisation prior to breast conserving surgery. Radioguided Occult Lesion Localisation using Iodine-125 Seed (ROLLIS) is an emerging alternative to conventional Hookwire Localisation (HWL). We compared ROLLIS with conventional HWL with respect to patient reported stress and discomfort related to the localisation procedure.

Correlation of ultra-low dose chest CT findings with physiologic measures of asbestosis.

Objectives: The correlation between ultra low dose computed tomography (ULDCT)-detected parenchymal lung changes and pulmonary function abnormalities is not well described. This study aimed to determine the relationship between ULDCT-detected interstitial lung disease (ILD) and measures of pulmonary function in an asbestos-exposed population.

Methods: Two thoracic radiologists independently categorised prone ULDCT scans from 143 participants for ILD appearances as absent (score 0), probable (1) or definite (2) without knowledge of asbestos exposure or lung function.

Background And Objective: Computed tomography (CT)-based studies of asbestos-exposed individuals report a high prevalence of lung cancer, but the utility of low dose CT (LDCT) to screen asbestos-exposed populations is not established. We aimed to describe the prevalence of indeterminate pulmonary nodules and incidental findings on chest LDCT of asbestos-exposed subjects in Western Australia.

Methods: A total of 906 subjects from the Western Australian Asbestos Review Programme underwent LDCT of the chest as part of regular annual review.
