Background: Studies have shown improved survival among individuals with cancer with higher levels of social support. Few studies have investigated social support and overall survival (OS) in individuals with advanced prostate cancer in an international cohort. Experience with the US health care system for Black and White patients with advanced prostate cancer.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess differences in reported information about treatment, integration into care, and respect by self-identified Black and White individuals with advanced prostate cancer in the United States.

Patients And Methods: This is a prospective cohort study of 701 participants (20% identifying as Black) enrolled in the International Registry for Men with Advanced Prostate Cancer at 37 US sites from 2017 to 2022. Participants were asked six questions from the Cancer Australia National Cancer Control Indicators about their experience with care at study enrollment.

A patient-driven clinicogenomic partnership for metastatic prostate cancer.

Molecular profiling studies have enabled discoveries for metastatic prostate cancer (MPC) but have predominantly occurred in academic medical institutions and involved non-representative patient populations. We established the Metastatic Prostate Cancer Project (MPCproject, mpcproject.org), a patient-partnered initiative to involve patients with MPC living anywhere in the US and Canada in molecular research.

Darolutamide and survival in nonmetastatic, castration-resistant prostate cancer: a patient perspective of the ARAMIS trial.

This is a summary of a publication about the ARAMIS (Androgen Receptor Antagonizing Agent for Metastasis-free Survival) trial, which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in September 2020. The trial was in adult participants with nonmetastatic, castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC) who received a trial treatment called darolutamide (brand name Nubeqa®). Darolutamide is currently available as an oral treatment for adults with nmCRPC.

"They Thought It Was an Obsession": Trajectories and Perspectives of Autistic Transgender and Gender-Diverse Adolescents.

Despite research exploring autism in gender-diverse adolescents, no studies have elicited these individuals' perspectives. In-depth interviews with 22 well-characterized autistic gender-diverse adolescents revealed critical themes, including: recollections of pre-pubertal gender nonconformity; vivid experiences of gender dysphoria; a fear of social gender expression due to perceived animosity toward transgender people; and specific challenges that result from the interplay of gender diversity and neurodiversity. During the ~ 22 month study social gender affirmation increased in six participants and gender dysphoria attenuated in four participants.
