Background: Limited data are available regarding the development and durability of immune responses following COVID-19 infection or vaccination in pediatric solid-organ transplant (SOT) recipients.
Methods: Renal, liver, or intestinal transplant recipients < 21 years of age followed at Seattle Children's Hospital were enrolled from August 2020 to May 2021. Blood samples were collected at ~6-month intervals for up to 3 years and tested for antinucleocapsid (N) antibodies.
Youth who undergo a kidney transplant can experience a fluctuation of successes and challenges throughout their chronic illness journey. Designing to capture their journey could help youth to reflect on their experiences, collaborate on their care, and be empowered to live their lives to the fullest. We interviewed 11 youth kidney transplant patients and 12 caregivers to elicit their transplant journey experiences.

Elevated body mass index (BMI) is a common contraindication to transplant at adult kidney transplant programs; however, there is no data on such limitations for pediatric patients.
Methods: Between October and December 2022, we conducted a survey of Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium centers assessing the use of BMI in pediatric kidney transplant evaluation.
Background: Valganciclovir is the only approved antiviral for cytomegalovirus (CMV) prevention in pediatric solid organ transplantation (SOT). Additional approaches may be needed to improve outcomes.
Methods: A multicenter retrospective study from 2016 to 2019 was conducted of pediatric SOT recipients in whom at least 3 months of valganciclovir prophylaxis was planned.
Importance: Pediatric patients with complex medical problems benefit from pediatric sub-specialty care; however, a significant proportion of children live greater than 80 mi. away from pediatric sub-specialty care.
Objective: To identify current knowledge gaps and outline concrete next steps to make progress on issues that have persistently challenged the pediatric nephrology workforce.
Background: Posterior urethral valves (PUV) represents a heterogenous spectrum in which guidelines for management are lacking particularly for those patients facing end-stage kidney disease and transplant. In this study we aim to 1) evaluate our long term PUV pediatric transplant outcomes compared to those without lower urinary tract dysfunction and 2) assess our PUV cohort for trends in bladder management and evaluate outcomes to inform development of institutional guidelines.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective cohort analysis of all patients with a diagnosis of PUV who underwent kidney transplant from 2000 to 2023 was completed.
