A 7 yr old castrated male domestic shorthair presented for assessment of a chronic left head tilt, losses of balance, and positional nystagmus. A computed tomographic scan of the head revealed several fragments of a metallic foreign body in the left tympanic cavity. The foreign material was removed under endoscopic assistance through a minimally invasive ventral bulla osteotomy.

We conducted a scoping review of the impact of HP bias about SES on clinical decision-making and its effect on the care of adults with lower SES.
Design: JBI scoping review methods were used to perform a systematic comprehensive search for literature.
A 4-year-old female spayed French bulldog was presented with a 2-day history of neck pain and left thoracic limb lameness with no neurological deficits. A computed tomography (CT) examination showed a left foraminal T1-2 disc extrusion. Surgical management was performed using a left lateral approach to the vertebral column with a scapular osteotomy.

An upper respiratory endoscopic examination and a computed tomographic scan showed a well-circumscribed, fluid-filled nasopharyngeal mass located in the median plane on the nasal side of the soft palate. This lesion was removed using a ventral approach to the nasopharynx by blunt-sharp dissection from the submucosal tissues of the soft palate.

Animals: Client-owned dogs and cats that underwent PCCL (n = 41) or OC (n = 40) between January 1, 2014 and February 28, 2018 at a referral center.
Objective: To assess the feasibility of a canister-free negative-pressure wound therapy (NPWT) device (PICO™ 1.6, Smith & Nephew Medical Ltd) and evaluate its effect on early phases of wound healing in canine experimental cutaneous wounds.

The regulation and permitting of managed aquifer recharge (MAR) has largely been integrated within existing State groundwater regulations. MAR implementation encompasses associated processes that include: (1) source water acquisition and conveyance to the recharge site; (2) source water treatment to ensure compatibility with native groundwater, (3) aquifer capacity to receive recharged water; (4) migration and recovery of recharged water; (5) geochemical reactions of injected water with aquifer matrix and native groundwater; and (6) monitoring and mitigation measures as required. Characterization, design, and operation of the various components involved in successfully recharging groundwater over extended duration is evolving and depends in part on effective coordination and communication between MAR project proponents and regulators.

Low-impact development (LID) technology for stormwater control has a number of forms, some of which relate to managed aquifer recharge to provide adequate safe water to communities. Stormwater collected through LID for managed aquifer recharge shifts water quantity and quality effects from surface waters to groundwater. Factors affecting quantity and quality of recharge influence and are influenced by state/local land development policy, state/local groundwater policy, regulation and codes and climate change effects, as well as pretreatment requirements.

The aims of the present study were (1) to compare the cumulative incidence of CNS symptoms in the first 100 days following allogeneic HCT among patients with donor and/or recipient iciHHV-6 (iciHHV-6)with that of patients with neither donor nor recipient iciHHV-6 (iciHHV-6) and (2) to assess the role of HHV-6 detection in driving potentially unnecessary interventions in iciHHV-6 patients. Seeds mainly acquire their physiological quality during maturation, whereas oxidative conditions reign within cells triggering protein carbonylation. To better understand the role of this protein modification in legume seeds, we compared by proteomics patterns of carbonylated proteins in maturing seeds of Medicago truncatula naturally desiccated or prematurely dried, a treatment known to impair seed quality acquisition. In both cases, protein carbonylation increased in these seeds, accompanying water removal.

To reveal potential evolutionary processes of this trait, we have conducted a shotgun proteomic analysis of isolated embryo and endosperm from mature seeds , an understory shrub endemic to New Caledonia that is considered to be the basal extant angiosperm. The present analysis led to the characterization of 415 and 69 proteins from the isolated embryo and endosperm tissues, respectively.

In the case of the seed storage proteins, this process is of major importance, as it conditions the establishment of vigorous seedlings. Toward the goal of identifying proteome signatures that could be associated with the origin and early diversification of angiosperms, we previously characterized the 11S-legumin-type seed storage proteins from Amborella trichopoda, a rainforest shrub endemic to New Caledonia that is also the probable sister to all other angiosperms (Amborella Genome Project, 2013).
