Introduction: Evidence regarding the benefit of endovascular therapy (EVT) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) due to isolated cervical internal carotid artery occlusion (c-ICA-O) is lacking. We assessed the outcomes and safety of EVT in patients with isolated c-ICA-O.

Methods: Retrospective multicenter cohort study of patients with an AIS due to isolated c-ICA-O, within 24-h since last-seen-well.

Effect of Different Luting Methods on the Microtensile Bond Strength of CAD/CAM Resin Blocks.

The widespread implementation of new CAD/CAM materials has led to the necessity of establishing an adequate luting protocol. The aim of this study was to evaluate the microtensile bond strength (μTBS) and the film thickness of different luting methods on CAD/CAM resin blocks. Five Brilliant Crios CAD/CAM blocks (Coltene/Whaledent) were sequentially sectioned into two halves, air abraded with 50 µm aluminum oxide, and luted according to five different cementation protocols: Brilliant EverGlow (BEG), Brilliant EverGlow with ultrasound application (BEG-US), preheated Brilliant EverGlow (BEG-H), Brilliant EverGlow Flow (BEGF), and Duo Cem Trans (DC).

Total mixed ration silage based on cactus pear and cottonseed cake in the feeding of feedlot finished lambs.

The purpose of this study was to assess the fermentative characteristics of total mixed ration silage (TMR) based on cactus pear and cottonseed cake and its effect on the productive performance and ingestive behaviour of lambs in feedlot. The study was divided into two experimental trials. The first experimental trial evaluated the fermentative quality of the total mixed ration silages, in five replications per treatment, and the second evaluated the productive performance and ingestive behaviour of lambs, in eight replications per treatment, with the treatments being represented by the proportion of cottonseed cake in the TMR (0; 20; 25 and 30% cottonseed cake on dry matter basis).

Obsessive-compulsive disorder secondary to focal brain lesions: from lesions to networks.

Background: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) may develop following brain lesions, but lesion distribution and connectivity patterns are unknown.

Methods: OCD-associated lesions, identified from systematic literature search, were traced on common brain space and compared to control lesions (N=608). Topography was analyzed using brain atlases, and lesion location networks computed using normative functional connectivity (N=1000).

Perceptions and experiences of directly observed treatment in tuberculosis: insights from a mixed-methods cross-sectional study.

Objective: The demanding nature and psychosocial burdens of directly observed treatment (DOT) have opened a path to alternative strategies such as video-observed therapy (VOT), which offers comparable treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction while potentially saving time and reducing costs. The objective of this study was to evaluate the perceptions and experiences of patients and health care professionals regarding DOT and other treatment strategies implemented in Portugal.

Methods: Patients with a confirmed diagnosis of tuberculosis, treated at the Vila Nova de Gaia Outpatient Tuberculosis Centre in the last two years, were asked to complete a brief questionnaire, as were health care professionals working in the northern region of Portugal.
