Background: Obesity is a multicausal illness that generates large expenses to health systems and also for the families of obese individuals. It is important to note that obesity disrupts all systems, generating metabolic consequences that may be irreversible. Interdisciplinary therapy is recommended as the primary method for treating obesity.
