The primary cause of spinal pain syndromes (SPS) is considered to be overload on the spine, potentially linked to joint hypermobility (JHM), which may aggravate spine tissue damage.
A study analyzed the case records of 8014 patients over seven years, revealing that JHM was significantly more common in those with SPS (7.9%) compared to a control group (0.7%).
The findings indicate a notable prevalence of hypermobility, especially among younger patients under 30, suggesting it may contribute to both immediate and long-term spinal pain issues.
