Cadmium (Cd), which accumulates in tobacco leaves, enters the human body through inhalation of smoke, causing harmful effects on health. Therefore, identifying the pivotal factors that govern the absorption and resistance of Cd in tobacco is crucial for mitigating the harmful impact of Cd. In this study, a hybrid material, MIL-53(Al)@CBS, was synthesized via the solvothermal method, involving the growth of MIL-53(Al) crystals on cocoa bean shell residues (CBS). Physicochemical characterization techniques, including TGA, BET, FTIR, XRD, and SEM, confirmed successful hybridization. Considerable amount of produced water discharged by the oil industry contributes to an environmental imbalance due to the presence of several components potentially harmful to the ecosystem. We investigated the factors influencing the adsorption capacity of Zinc Imidazolate Framework-8 (ZIF-8) in finite bath systems for crude oil removal from petroleum extraction in synthetic produced water. In this work, a hybrid was synthesized by hydrothermal treatment, metal-organic framework functionalized with hydrochar (MIL-53(Al)@HC) for the adsorption of two organic molecules Ibuprofen sodium salt and Metsulfuron-methyl, in binary system. The development of an original catalytic composite of bacterial cellulose (BC) and pyrite (FeS) for environmental application was the objective of this study. Nanoparticles of the FeS were synthesized from the hydrothermal method and immobilized on the BC structure using ex situ methodology. MOF@Biomass layered hybrids were designed through in situ growth from rice husk (RH) and microwave-assisted synthesized MIL-53(Al) particles that enable the reduction of reaction times. The synthesis process included steps to pretreat RH, Al adsorption on RH, and then MIL-53(Al) in-situ growth reaction at 125 °C for 60 min and 200 W irradiation power. This contribution aims to demonstrate the scope of new hybrids between biomass and metal-organic frameworks (MOF@biomass) used in the adsorption process of pollutants. After a brief presentation of the use of the main series of MOFs as efficient adsorbents for different types of pollutants, the limitations of these structures related to particle size and hydrodynamic problems during their application are highlighted. This article presents a study on the degradation of a residual textile mixture composed of cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and the remazol yellow gold RNL-150% and reactive blue BF-5G textile dyes. This was carried out by employing the photo-peroxidation and photo-Fenton processes in LED and UV-C photoreactors. The photo-Fenton process was the most efficient as regards the degradation of the CTAB and dye mixture, for both types of radiation.

This work investigates the efficiency of LED and UV-C photo-reactors for paracetamol degradation using advanced oxidative processes. Among the evaluated processes, photo-Fenton was the most efficient for both radiations. Degradations greater than 81% (λ 197 nm) and 91% (λ 243 nm) were obtained in the kinetic study.
