Here, novel hydroxyl and carboxyl functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (AHF-MWCNT and ACF-MWCNT) were successfully synthesized and introduced for modification and antifouling improvement of the PVDF membrane. The blending effect of AHF-MWCNT and ACF-MWCNT on the morphology and surface properties of the PVDF membrane was explored by SEM, AFM, water contact angle, and zeta potential analysis. The results indicated that the membrane surface has become more hydrophilic, smoother as well more negative.

Introduction And Aim: Pseudomonas aeruginosa could acquire a mucoid phenotype due to mutations in mucA (mucoid Pseudomonas aeruginosa - mPA) that is a hallmark of poor prognosis in patients with bronchiectasis. Despite the higher prevalence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in bronchiectasis, how mPA and non-mucoid Pseudomonas aeruginosa (non-mPA) phenotypes could affect viscoelastic properties of sputum is unknown. Our aim was to determine the relationship between Pseudomonas aeruginosa phenotypes isolation, the viscoelastic properties of sputum and the clinical outcomes in patients with bronchiectasis.

We modelled the production of hydroxy fatty acids from oleic acid by Pseudomonas aeruginosa 42A2 in a bioreactor with a non-dispersive aeration system. First, we designed an adapted wetted-wall gas-absorption column, offering a k La value of 39.9 h(-1), to enhance oxygen absorption in the culture media and prevent foam formation.
