Interhospital transport: transport of critically ill patients.

Primary emergency medicine systems in developed countries are well organized. Besides this primary system a secondary interhospital transport system has been developed in the past decade. The need for this system is expected to increase in the future following dramatic changes in the organization of the medical health system.
