Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is prevalent among patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and exacerbates myocardial ischemia. However, the survival benefit of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) across different stages of CKD remains controversial. CAD patients ( = 17,418) with CKD (mean age, 69.

This study aimed to investigate whether the excess risk of death in these patients could be reduced or eliminated through joint intensive control of blood pressure, glucose and renin-angiotensin system inhibitors (RASi) treatment, among CVD patients with CKD.
Method: Overall, 6222 CVD patients with CKD and 9274 matched CVD patients who were free of CKD, hypertension and diabetes from CIN II cohort (NCT05050877), were included in the study.
Background And Aims: Heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) is a prevalent autosomal dominant disorder of lipid metabolism but severely underdiagnosed and undertreated in China. This phase 3 trial aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ongericimab, a novel monoclonal antibody that targets proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), in Chinese patients with HeFH.
Methods: Patients who have been diagnosed with definite HeFH according to Dutch Lipid Clinical Network criteria and receiving stable and optimized lipid-lowering therapy were enrolled.
Antegrade wiring (AW) is the prevailing chronic total occlusion (CTO) crossing technique. For proximal cap ambiguity, the Global CTO consensus group uses the "anatomy dictates strategy" method: 1) intravascular ultrasound; 2) move the cap; or 3) retrograde. For CTO body crossing, anatomy dictates 4 strategies: 1) CTOs with tapered stump-loose tissue tracking; 2) CTOs with clear intimal path-intentional intimal tracking with 3-dimensional (3D) wiring; 3) CTOs without a clear intimal path-intentional intimal tracking with intermediate penetration wire; and 4) the "long plus CTOs"-intentional subintimal wiring.

Comprehensive investigation is needed to develop effective interventions. Following the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology guidelines, a stratified random cluster sampling approach was used from September to October 2023 across 17 cities in Shandong Province.

Objective: To compare the connection between lipoprotein a (Lp[a]), fibrinogen (Fib), and both parameters combined with all-cause mortality to detect their value as prognostic biomarkers.
Methods: This is a retrospective study.
Background: The previous first-in-human study established the preliminary safety and effectiveness of the novel thin-strut iron bioresorbable scaffold (IBS). The current study aims to directly compare the imaging and physiological efficacy, and clinical outcomes of IBS with contemporary metallic drug-eluting stents (DES).
Methods: A total of 518 patients were randomly allocated to treatment with IBS (257 patients) or metallic DES (261 patients) from 36 centers in China.
Background: A phase 3 trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ongericimab, a monoclonal antibody that inhibits proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9, as an add-on treatment to optimized lipid-lowering therapy in Chinese patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia.
Methods And Results: A total of 806 patients who were receiving stable and optimized lipid-lowering therapy but did not achieve their low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets were enrolled and randomly assigned in a 2:1:2:1 ratio to receive either ongericimab 150 mg or matching placebo every 2 weeks, or ongericimab 300 mg or matching placebo every 4 weeks for 52 weeks. Efficacy and safety were evaluated in 802 patients who received at least 1 dose of ongericimab or placebo.
In this paper, the MnO catalysts with excellent toluene oxidation performance were prepared by a simple precipitation method. The physicochemical properties of the prepared MnO catalysts were investigated by XRD, BET, H-TPR, O-TPD and XPS. The obtained results revealed that the crystallinity of the prepared MnO catalysts could be effectively regulated by changing the (NH)CO/Mn(NO) molar ratio, and thus affecting the oxygen vacancy concentration of the prepared MnO catalysts.

It is unclear how best to translate these population-level results to individual patients.
Objectives: The authors sought to identify patient characteristics associated with health status from invasive and conservative strategies, and develop a prediction algorithm for shared decision-making.
Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is characterized by inflammation, oxidative stress, and atherosclerosis, contributing to increased mortality risk. High-density lipoprotein (HDL) takes a crucial part in mitigating atherosclerosis and inflammation through its diverse functionalities. Conversely, fibrinogen is implicated in the development of atherosclerotic plaques.

This study aimed to evaluate the long-term cost-effectiveness of MitraClip added to guideline-directed medical therapy vs. guideline-directed medical therapy alone in heart failure patients with secondary mitral regurgitation from the perspective of the healthcare systems of mainland China, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States.

Therefore, we aimed to determine the associations between TyG and all-cause/cause-specific death in a T2DM cohort and explore whether such associations would be modified by age.
Methods: A total of 3,376 patients with T2DM from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 1999-2018 were selected and divided into the younger group (< 65 yrs) and the older group (≥ 65 yrs).
Introduction: Perioperative rehabilitation (PORT) has shown a positive effect on patients undergoing cardiac surgery. However, there are minimal data on the impact of short-term PORT in cardiac surgery, which is associated with higher postoperative morbidity and mortality. The trial will assess the efficacy of short-term PORT in reducing in-hospital mortality, postoperative pulmonary complications and length of stay, compared with the usual care in cardiac surgical patients.

Mortality in patients with infective endocarditis (IE) remains high. The existing risk scores are relatively complex with limited clinical application. This study was conducted to establish a new risk model to predict in-hospital and 6-month mortality in IE patients.

We aimed to evaluate the relationship between stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) and worsening HF in CAD patients with significant (grade ≥2) sMR.
Methods: We performed a multi-center observational study of 874 participants with significant sMR following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the Cardiorenal Improvement-II (CIN-II) cohort.
