Mental health and sleep routines: Uttarkashi, India tunnel collapse workers' experience.

Among the mental health outcomes and disaster types (determined by damage to life, property, long-term consequences, displacement, and unpredictability), floods are associated with anxiety and sleep problems, mudslides with anxiety and mood disturbance, volcanic eruptions with acute stress reactions, and earthquakes with anxiety, depression, and physical complaints. Disasters such as tunnel collapse are unique as it involves the healthy, without loss of personal property or displacement; hence, they can have very different health-related outcomes. In this study, we explore mental health and sleep-related issues in workers rescued from an under-construction collapsed tunnel trapped for 17 days.

Nutcracker Syndrome and its Exceptional Occurrence with Pulmonary Tuberculosis: A Case Report.

Nutcracker syndrome (NCS), also known as left renal vein (LRV) entrapment syndrome, is a condition resulting due to compression of LRV between the aorta and superior mesenteric artery (SMA), with dilatation of the distal portion of LRV. We present a case of an elderly female presenting with left lumbar pain for 1 year. Initial investigations revealed microscopic hematuria and mild ascites.

Osteochondroma of Distal End Radius Presenting as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: A Case Report.

Introduction: Osteochondromas are the most common benign bone tumors, typically occurring during growth. However, their occurrence in the distal radius is rare, and presentation with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) symptoms in pediatric patients is even rarer.

Case Report: Here, we describe a unique case of an 8-year-old female who presented with CTS symptoms and was simultaneously diagnosed with an osteochondroma of the distal radius.

Diabetes distress and associated factors among adults with diabetes mellitus residing in a metropolitan city of India: a community-based study.

Background: Diabetes distress "refers to the negative emotional or affective experiences resulting from the challenge of living with the demands of diabetes." Despite recommendations to screen for distress at regular intervals, it usually remains undiagnosed. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of diabetes distress among adults living with diabetes, determine the factors associated with distress, the association between selfcare and distress, glycemic control and distress and compare the health-related quality of life among those with and without distress.

Development and Validation of a Novel Tool to Measure Medication Adherence for Noncommunicable Diseases in India: Protocol for an Exploratory Sequential Mixed Methods Multicentric Study.

Background: In high-income countries, only 50% of patients treated for chronic diseases adhere to the prescribed treatment. This issue is even more pronounced in resource-limited countries. Medication adherence scales are simple, low-cost approaches to identify nonadherence in clinical practice.

Genetic Interaction Between F-Box Encoding UCC1 and RRM3 Regulates Growth Rate, Cell Size, and Stress Tolerance in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Ucc1, an F-box motif-containing protein of Saccharomyces cerevisiae encoded by UCC1 regulates energy metabolism through proteasomal degradation of citrate synthase Cit2 and inactivation of the glyoxylate cycle when glucose is present as the main carbon source in the growth medium. Rrm3, a Pif1 family DNA helicase, encoded by RRM3 regulates the movement of the replication forks during the DNA replication process. Here in this study, we present evidence of binary genetic interaction between both the genes, UCC1 and RRM3, that determine the growth rate, cell morphology, cell size, apoptosis, and stress response.

A database comprising primary physicochemical characteristics and soil suitability would assist the planners in devising an appropriate land use policy and any intervention strategy for soil quality improvement. The physicochemical characteristics of soils in parts of the Banganga Basin, located in the semi-arid terrain of NW India were evaluated mainly through surface samples and sub-surface ones wherever sections were exposed in stream banks.

Adjuvant therapy may improve overall survival in high-risk periampullary adenocarcinomas patients - A match-pair analysis from a multi-institutional cohort study (The MIPPAP study).

Background: The role of adjuvant therapy in resected periampullary adenocarcinomas is equivocal due to contrasting data and limited prospective trials.

Methods: The Multicentre Indian Pancreatic & Periampullary Adenocarcinoma Project (MIPPAP), included data from 8 institutions across India. Of the 1679 pancreatic resections, 736 patients with T3/T4 and/or Node positive adenocarcinomas (considered as high risk for recurrence) were included for analysis.

Prospective Study to Evaluate the Role of Dual Point Contrast-enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Differentiation of Brain Tumoral from Nontumoral Tissue: A Magnetic Resonance/PET Study.

Background And Purpose: Follow-up imaging of gliomas is crucial to look for residual or recurrence and to differentiate them from nontumoral tissue. Positron emission tomography (PET)-magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the problem-solving tool in such cases. We investigated the role of dual point contrast (DPC)-enhanced MRI to discriminate tumoral from the nontumoral tissue compared to PET-MRI taken as the gold standard.

Synthesis and characterization of novel histidine functionalized chitosan nanoformulations and its bioactivity in tomato plant.

The use of novel active ingredients for the functional modification of chitosan nanoformulations has attracted global attention. In this study, chitosan has been functionalized via histidine to craft novel chitosan-histidine nanoformulation (C-H NF) using ionic gelation method. C-H NF exhibited elite physico-biochemical properties, influencing physiological and biochemical dynamics in Tomato.

Construction and validation of a covariate-based model for district-level estimation of excess deaths due to COVID-19 in India.

Background: Different statistical approaches for estimating excess deaths due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic have led to varying estimates. In this study, we developed and validated a covariate-based model (CBM) with imputation for prediction of district-level excess deaths in India.

Methods: We used data extracted from deaths registered under the Civil Registration System for 2015-19 for 684 of 713 districts in India to estimate expected deaths for 2020 through a negative binomial regression model (NBRM) and to calculate excess observed deaths.
