N-RAS expression in patients with salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma: association with clinicopathologic features and prognosis.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate N-RAS expression in patients with salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma (SACC) and to analyze its association with clinicopathologic features and prognosis.

Study Design: We determined N-RAS expression in SACC tumors via immunohistochemistry and evaluated the association between N-RAS expression and clinicopathologic variables. The disease-free survival (DFS) curves were plotted by using the Kaplan-Meier method.

miR-98 functions as a tumor suppressor in salivary adenoid cystic carcinomas.

Purpose: miR-98, a member of the let-7 family of microRNAs, is downregulated in many malignant tumors and has been correlated with tumor progression. However, the roles of miR-98 in salivary adenoid cystic carcinomas (SACCs) are still unclear. Thus, we explored the role of miR-98 in the pathogenesis of SACCs.

Malignant renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma: A case report and review of the literature.

Malignant renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma (EAML) is rare, and currently there is no malignant criteria for its pathological diagnosis. In the present study, the case of a patient who suffered malignant renal EAML and underwent nephrectomy is reported. The histological patterns of the tumor were composed of sheets or nests of large polygonal epithelioid cells and thick-walled blood vessels, with clear mitoses.
