Ethoxysanguinarine (ETSG), a benzophenanthridine alkaloid, exhibits diverse biological activities, including antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-tumor effects. Despite these properties, limited research exists on ETSG in vivo pharmacokinetics due to its poor solubility and low bioavailability. In this study, we developed a rapid and specific UPLC-MS/MS method for ETSG bioanalysis.

Arctigenin (ATG) is a broad-spectrum antitumor drug with an excellent inhibitory effect on malignant tumors such as breast cancer, glioblastoma, liver cancer, and colon cancer. However, the clinical application of ATG is limited by its poor water solubility and quick hydrolysis in the liver, intestine, and plasma, which might hinder its application. Sialic acid (SA) recognizes selectin receptors overexpressed on the surface of tumor-associated macrophages.

The development of inexpensive, selective, and robust catalysts that enable room temperature conversion will decide the future of this technology. Single-atom catalysts (SACs) with isolated active centers embedded in support have displayed significant promises in catalysis to drive challenging reactions.

The intrinsic recalcitrance of lignocellulosic biomass puts high demands on the rational design of bifunctional photocatalyst. Herein, NiP/CdS with a strong interfacial effect in this work was designed to overcome lignocellulosic biomass photorefining.

Compared to cellulose and hemicellulose, the exploitation and utilization of lignin via photoreforming are still at the early and more exciting stages. This Review systematically summarizes the latest progress on the photoreforming of lignin-derived model components and "real" lignin, aiming to provide insights for lignin photocatalytic valorization from fundamental to industrial applications.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLignocellulosic biomass valorization is regarded as a promising approach to alleviate energy crisis and achieve carbon neutrality. Bioactive enzymes have attracted great attention and been commonly applied for biomass valorization owing to their high selectivity and catalytic efficiency under environmentally benign reaction conditions. Same as biocatalysis, photo-/electro-catalysis also happens at mild conditions (i.

This process is realized a one-pot sequential cascade reaction by cellulase enzymes and a carbon nitride photocatalyst that can realize selective glucose photoreforming into gluconic acid. Cellulase enzymes breakdown cellulose into glucose, which will subsequently be converted into gluconic acid by essential oxidative species (˙O and ˙OH) a selective photocatalysis process with simultaneous HO formation.

Different datasets of non-G-CIMP me GBMs with molecular and clinical data were analyzed. A panel of 77 TMZ efficacy-related CpGs and a seven-CpG risk signature were identified and validated for distinguishing differential outcomes to radiotherapy plus TMZ versus radiotherapy alone in non-G-CIMP me GBMs.

To investigate the effects of a self-designed nutritional preparation on hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis function and energy metabolism in female SD rats exposed to intermittent cold. Female SD rats were divided into control group, cold exposure group and nutritional preparation group. The control group and cold exposure group were given distilled water by daily gavage, and the nutritional preparation group was given nutritional preparation intragastrically.

Background: Physicians' knowledge and practice which are consistent with evidence-based guidelines can improve allergic rhinitis (AR) patients' care. Compared with western countries, the available literature about Asian doctors' perceptions and clinical practices regarding Allergic Rhinitis and its Impacts on Asthma (ARIA) guidelines is limited.
Objective: To collect detailed information about the practical management patterns specific for AR patients and investigate compliance with ARIA in the clinical practice of Asian physicians and elucidate the possible inadequacy in the existing ARIA guidelines.
Objective: Alterations in the methylation state of pseudogenes may serve as clinically useful biomarkers of glioblastomas (GBMs) that do not have glioma-CpG island methylator phenotype (G-CIMP).
Methods: Non-G-CIMP GBM datasets were included for evaluation, and a RISK-score signature was determined from the methylation state of pseudogene loci. Both bioinformatic and experimental analyses were performed for biological validation.

Background: The diagnosis and management of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) may vary between otolaryngologists and allergists. Moreover, the adherence of different practitioners to European Position Paper on Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyps (EPOS) 2020 guideline recommendations has not been previously ascertained in Asia-Pacific regions.
Objective: Different specialists' perceptions and managements of CRS in Asia-Pacific regions were assessed in an attempt to gauge these practices against EPOS 2020 guidelines.
Background: Spinal tuberculosis (TB) has the highest incidence in remote plateau areas, particularly in Tibet, China, due to inadequate local healthcare services, which not only facilitates the transmission of TB bacteria but also increases the burden on grassroots hospitals. Computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) is urgently required to improve the efficiency of clinical diagnosis of TB using computed tomography (CT) images. However, classical machine learning with handcrafted features generally has low accuracy, and deep learning with self-extracting features relies heavily on the size of medical datasets.

High dimensionality and noise have made it difficult to detect related biomarkers in omics data. Through previous study, penalized maximum trimmed likelihood estimation is effective in identifying mislabeled samples in high-dimensional data with mislabeled error. However, the algorithm commonly used in these studies is the concentration step (C-step), and the C-step algorithm that is applied to robust penalized regression does not ensure that the criterion function is gradually optimized iteratively, because the regularized parameters change during the iteration.

17β-Estradiol (E2) can cause an adverse effect on the human endocrine system even at the nanomolar level. Measurements of very low levels of E2 remain a critical challenge due to insufficient sensitivity. In this study, a multistep isothermal amplification fluorescence strategy was constructed, which could realize the exponential amplification of target E2.
